The Department of Computational Linguistics is inviting applications for the following position commencing at the earliest opportunity

Academic research assistant (m/f/x)

Reference number W2858, salary in accordance with the German TV-L salary scale1, pay grade: 13, duration of employment: 2 years, volume of employment: 100 % of standard working time.

Job requirements and responsibilities:

• Research and teaching in computational linguistics.

• The position comes with a teaching load of four hours per week in the BSc Computational Linguistics (German) and the MSc Language Science and Technology (English).

• You should have expertise in modern techniques of natural-language processing, demonstrated through high quality publications, and a compelling research agenda, demonstrated through your research statement. You should be willing to take an active role in shaping the research and teaching environment of the department. Expertise in dialogue systems and their theory is a plus.

Your academic qualifications:

• Doctoral degree / PhD in computational linguistics, computer science, or a related discipline.

• Language skills (according to GER): Proficiency in English (spoken and written) is required. The ability to teach in German is a plus.
